Derventio Quartet: About The Derventio String Quartet



		Formerly known as The Silver Strings Quartet, The Derventio Quartet formed in Derby in 2001. Members have studied at some of Britain's top music Conservatoires and Universities, including Manchester University, Bath University, The Birmingham Conservatoire and The Royal Northern College of Music.

As a string quartet, the group has played at Derby Cathedral, Haddon Hall and Pride Park, amongst other venues, and performs regularly at Makeney Hall Hotel and Marriott Breadsall Priory. Individually, members have performed at The Royal Albert Hall, The Royal Festival Hall, The Barbican, Nottingham Castle, Nottingham Theatre Royal, The Bridgewater Hall, Granada Studios and Old Trafford in Manchester. Previous engagements have included a 'Classical Evening' at Uttoxeter Race Course, the prestigious Life Magazine's Annual Awards Dinner, and a reception for Princess Anne.

Current wedding venues include:
Kedleston Hall, Makeney Hall Hotel, Marriott Breadsall Priory, Risley Hall, Sandon Hall, The Mackworth Hotel, Best Western Midland Hotel, The International Hotel in Ashbourne and Derby Cathedral. The quartet will be happy to play at any venue not included in this list.
