Below you will find answers to the questions we are most often asked. If you have any other questions that are not answered below, please get in touch.
How do the musicians dress?
Unless otherwise requested we wear smart, black evening wear.
What do you require at the venue?
We need four chairs without arms, and an area about 8 foot square. It is helpful to appoint someone to liaise with us, for example to signal the entrance of the bride or the start of speeches. Usually this is done by staff at the venue, but it would be useful if you could confirm this with your co-ordinator beforehand.
Do you play outdoors?
We often play outside on grass or a hard surface, but for the sake of the instruments – as well as our fingers – we need a minimum temperature of about 65 F (18 C) as well as shelter from wind, rain or direct sunlight. Please inform your venue that you may want us to play outdoors so that arrangements can be made for shelter and chairs.
Does the quartet take a break?
To maintain the high quality of sound, we will need to take a short break of around 10 minutes every hour. Breaks are part of the time you have booked us for.
